Waste management in our Suzhou Plant. SIG Combibloc is dedicated to playing an active role in the sustainability of the environment, ensuring that at every stage in its life cycle our aseptic cartons have the lowest impact on the environment possible. Through investments in new recycling and waste management technologies, SIG Combibloc is committed to disposing of wastes responsibly –recovering resources from used products and materials in a sustainable way without unnecessarily burdening the environment. Achieving this goal means that we adhere to strict production procedures, continuously striving to minimize the production waste in our plant as well as recycling, recovering and reusing as much of it as possible. Subscribing to an integrated approach to waste management, SIG Combibloc utilizes several methods in the recycling and disposal of various materials to optimize the waste management process. Waste material from the production process is collected in our plant before they are sent to our partners at the recycling paper mill for resource recovery. After being cleaned and separated, the paper fiber, PE and aluminum are made into pulp, plastic particles and aluminum foil. The recovered pulp will be used to produce new paper products such as office supplies, paper bags, printing paper, etc. Recovered plastic components can be made into flowerpots, trays and bins, etc. Recovered aluminum foil will be used as the raw material for aluminum and fireworks. Through developments in our sewage disposal system, the sewage from paper-making process will be further purified for recycling use. From an environmental impact perspective, incineration of wastes can prove to be an efficient way to recover energy, by working closely with qualified waste disposal companies, SIG Combibloc allows for the collection and incineration of waste materials from the plant. With the sustainability of the environment in mind, SIG Combibloc is determined to reduce our ecological footprint through the reduction of wastes produced in our plant as well as the recycling of materials and the recovery of resources. Recycling The recycling process ensures optimal use of the waste produced in our Suzhou production plant. ;)
Conclusion. In recent years, our industry has achieved ecological progress by effectively optimising packaging weight and recycling technology. With the aid of our environmental management systems we are striving to realize additional internal improvements.
