Member of the Energy Agency for the Economy (EnAW)

As the major part of the properties is not used by SIG directly, SIG ID also has an influence on the tenants such as companies or households. This substantial impact potential has led SIG to become a member of the Energy Agency for the Economy (EnAW). The Swiss EnAW ( www.enaw.ch ) was founded in 1999 by a number of influential trade and industry associations. It fosters increased energy efficiency while reducing CO2 emissions. With this objective in mind, the agency has signed an outline agreement with the Swiss Confederation.

Tested and approved
Agreed targets established by SIG ID have been verified in an independent audit process to establish whether they comply with the guidelines on voluntary measures to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the sectors of industry, trade and services. Investments of some CHF 4,5 million on building improvements made between 1990 and 2000 resulted in savings of 572,421 liters of heating oil and 1,414,451 kWh electrical energy. Further investments exceeding CHF 5 million between 2000 and 2010 will generate additional savings of 376,854 liters of heating oil and 332,000 kWh of electrical energy.
