There are countless examples from all over the globe of SIG Combibloc’s successful long-term partnerships with providers in the food industry. To manufacture their products, these providers count on SIG’s unique, flexible combibloc filling technology, which enables them to fill liquid and chunky foods. White cheese is now available in carton packs from SIG Combibloc. In filling its special cheeses in combibloc carton packs, Saudi Arabian food manufacturer and exporter Almarai is filling its cheese delicay in combibloc packages. The cheese is available in four varieties: white cheese with 40 % fat i.d.m., with reduced fat (25 % i.d.m.) and in a low-salt variety or with premium vegetable oil in combiblocSlimline 500 ml and combiblocSmall 200 ml. The special feature of the filling process is that the cheese is initially filled into the carton pack as a liquid and coagulates inside the carton pack after all the ingredients have been added. The white cheese gains its characteristic firm consistency only after this coagulation process has taken place. The necessary enzymes are mixed into the liquid cheese in a mobile mixing and dosing unit shortly before the filling-process. From this unit the cheese is filled into the carton packs on SIG Combibloc filling machines. This external equipment, which ensures that quantity dosage and product mix are exactly right, was developed by Danish manufacturer Primodan. The mobile units in use at Almarai are compatible with the filling machines CFA 712 and CFA 310 for combiblocSmall and combiblocSlimline respectively. It was the product protection characteristics of aseptic carton packaging, in combination with high-performance machine technology, that persuaded ABC to intensify its cooperation with SIG Combibloc. Nine CFA 712 filling machines and one CFA 310 filling machine from SIG Combibloc have been installed at ABC’s filling plant. ABC has extended their range of products that they offer in aseptic carton packs including ice cream and dessert cream. With these products, they are meeting the demands of the Gulf market for conveniently packaged products, which are increasingly in demand when it comes to dessert blends as well. ABC is placing emphasis on Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream in combiblocSlimline 1,000 ml and dessert cream in combiblocSmall 250 ml. An example of the flexibility of SIG Combibloc’s filling technology outside the Middle East region is the company’s partnership with Boschi. In Italy, the company, a co-packing specialist operating Europe-wide, offers its products in carton packs from SIG Combibloc. These products include tomato chunks – typically for the Italian market, these have a very high particulate proportion, and thanks to the unique flexibility of SIG Combibloc’s filling machines and the 2-phase filling technology, they can be filled without difficulty. |
